NHAI removes Paytm as approved FASTag provider: List of approved alternatives
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has delisted Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) from its list of approved FASTag providers, following directives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Despite the central bank extending the deadline for PPBL until March 15, the RBI has clarified that FASTag accounts are not interchangeable between banks.Customers who currently hold FASTag accounts issued by PPBL are advised to close their accounts and request a refund. They will then need to acquire a new FASTag from one of the 32 banks currently approved by the NHAI. The Indian Highways Management Company (IHMCL) recommends that users purchase FASTag only from the updated list of authorised providers.Alternatively, users can obtain FASTag directly from the NHAI through the “My FASTag” mobile app, available on both Android and iOS platforms. The app allows users to purchase FASTag through Amazon or Flipkart and complete the activation process using QR code scanning and on-screen instructions. The NHAI’s decision to delist PPBL as a FASTag provider comes in the wake of the RBI’s ongoing efforts to regulate and streamline the digital payments ecosystem in India. Users are urged to comply with the guidelines and switch to approved FASTag providers to ensure seamless and secure toll payments on national highways. Here’s the list of all all the authorised banks as per NHAI:Bank NameOfficial URLAirtel Payments BankLinkAU Small Finance BankLinkAxisLinkBank of MaharashtraLinkCanara BankLinkCentral Bank of IndiaLinkEquitas Small Finance BankLinkFederal BankLinkFINO Payments BankLinkHDFCLinkIDBI BankLinkIDFC First BankLinkIndusind BankLinkKotak Mahindra BankLinkNagpur Nagarik Sahakari BankLinkSaraswat Co-operative BankLinkSouth Indian BankLinkState Bank of IndiaLinkUCO BankLinkUnion Bank of IndiaLinkYes Bank LtdLink
