Adani Ports Reports Record Cash Flow Amid Rising Interest Expenses and Low Dividend Payout

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone has released its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, showcasing a range of noteworthy developments. The company has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score rising to 12 from 11 over the past three months.
The financial data reveals several positive trends for Adani Ports. Operating cash flow reached a record high of Rs 17,226.28 crore, reflecting consistent growth over the last three years. The debt-equity ratio has also shown a favorable shift, recorded at 0.82 times, indicating a reduction in borrowing relative to equity capital. Additionally, net sales for the quarter peaked at Rs 9,126.14 crore, marking a year-on-year growth of 20.72%. Other metrics, including operating profit, profit before tax, and profit after tax, all reached their highest levels in the last five quarters, contributing to an increase in earnings per share to Rs 15.34.

Conversely, the financial results highlight some challenges. Interest expenses have risen significantly, growing by 52.42% over the preceding nine months, which may indicate increased borrowing. Furthermore, the dividend payout ratio has reached its lowest point in five years at 13.63%, suggesting a lower distribution of profits to shareholders.
