Abbott India Ltd.'s latest results show mixed performance, with net sales growing 6.54% year-on-year but declining 0.84% sequentially. While net profit increased and operating margins improved, concerns about growth sustainability and high valuation persist.
Abbott India Ltd.'s latest financial results for the quarter ending March 2026 reveal a mixed operational performance amidst a challenging pharmaceutical environment. The company reported net sales of ₹1,709.51 crores, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 6.54%, although this marked a sequential decline of 0.84% from the previous quarter. The net profit for the same quarter stood at ₹394.93 crores, which represents a year-on-year increase of 7.60% and a quarter-on-quarter growth of 5.05%.
The operating margin, excluding other income, improved to 28.13%, up 142 basis points from the corresponding quarter last year, indicating effective cost management. The profit after tax (PAT) margin also saw a slight increase to 23.10%, up from 22.87% in the prior year, showcasing the company's ability to maintain profitability despite inflationary pressures. For the full fiscal year FY26, Abbott India achieved consolidated net sales of ₹6,929.05 crores, an 8.11% increase from the previous fiscal year. This performance underscores the company's established market position, although concerns regarding growth sustainability and valuation premium persist, particularly as the stock trades at a high price-to-earnings ratio. Overall, the results indicate operational consistency, with notable margin expansion, yet the sequential revenue decline raises questions about demand momentum as the fiscal year concluded. Additionally, the company experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the complexities of its growth trajectory and market conditions.
