ACC Ltd's latest financial results for Q4 FY26 reveal a complex situation characterized by significant revenue growth alongside notable profitability challenges. The company achieved its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹7,146.18 crores, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 16.87% and a sequential increase of 10.23%. However, this revenue growth was overshadowed by a sharp decline in net profit, which fell to ₹238.25 crores, marking a 68.28% decrease compared to the same quarter last year and a 41.06% decline from the previous quarter.
The operating margin, excluding other income, deteriorated to 8.77%, the lowest level in eight quarters, down from 13.58% in Q4 FY25. This significant margin compression highlights the operational pressures faced by ACC, likely stemming from elevated input costs and competitive pricing pressures within the cement industry. The profit after tax (PAT) margin also contracted to 3.33%, down from 12.28% a year ago and 6.24% in the previous quarter, indicating intensified challenges in maintaining profitability. In terms of operational efficiency, the return on capital employed (ROCE) fell to 10.68%, significantly below the five-year average of 17.89%, suggesting diminishing returns on capital. Despite these challenges, the company's balance sheet remains robust, with no long-term debt and shareholder funds increasing to ₹18,554.84 crores. The recent performance has led to an adjustment in the company's evaluation, reflecting the market's concerns regarding its operational trajectory. Overall, ACC Ltd's results illustrate a stark disconnect between strong revenue generation and deteriorating profitability, raising questions about the sustainability of its financial performance in the current market environment.
