Are Amal latest results good or bad?

Amal, a microcap company in the dyes and pigments industry, has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, which indicate a significant performance compared to previous periods. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for the latest six months is Rs 23.32 crore, showing a year-on-year growth of 783.33%, surpassing the PAT of Rs 8.62 crore from the prior twelve-month period. This suggests that Amal has already exceeded its previous annual profit within just half a year.
In terms of net sales, Amal reported Rs 38.96 crore for the quarter, reflecting a 32.6% increase over the average net sales of Rs 29.39 crore from the previous four quarters. The Profit Before Tax (PBT), excluding other income, reached Rs 8.00 crore, which is a 27.9% increase compared to the average PBT of Rs 6.25 crore from the last four quarters.

However, when examining the quarter-on-quarter performance, there are notable declines. The net sales for the quarter ending March 2025 show a decrease of 14.92% compared to the previous quarter, where growth was reported at 52.33%. Similarly, the consolidated net profit has decreased by 59.01% from the prior quarter, which had a growth rate of 199.10%. The operating profit margin, excluding other income, has also seen a decline of 17.65% from the previous quarter's margin of 26.90%.

Despite these mixed results, it is noted that the company saw an adjustment in its evaluation over the past three months. Overall, while Amal's long-term performance appears strong, recent quarter-on-quarter results indicate challenges that warrant attention.
