AU Small Finance Bank Ltd's latest Q4 FY26 results are strong, with a net profit growth of 65.15% and a net interest income increase of 23.33%. While asset quality has improved, attention to the declining CASA ratio is necessary for future margin sustainability.
AU Small Finance Bank Ltd's latest financial results for Q4 FY26 reflect a strong performance characterized by significant growth in net profit and net interest income. The bank reported a net profit of ₹831.87 crores, representing a year-on-year growth of 65.15%, which is a notable increase compared to the previous year's growth rate of 16.24%. This surge in profitability is attributed to the bank's effective cost management and an expansion in its core lending margins.
The total income for the quarter reached ₹5,750.10 crores, marking a year-on-year increase of 14.29%. Interest earned also demonstrated robust growth, with a year-on-year increase of 17.53%. The net interest income (NII) rose to ₹2,582.33 crores, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 23.33%, indicating the bank's ability to capitalize on favorable lending conditions. The bank's net interest margin (NIM) improved to 6.0%, up 20 basis points from the previous quarter, reversing a declining trend observed earlier in the fiscal year. This improvement in NIM was driven by a strategic shift towards higher-yielding asset segments and the repricing of existing loans at higher rates. In terms of asset quality, the gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 2.03%, down from 2.30% in the previous quarter, although the bank has experienced fluctuations in this metric throughout the fiscal year. The provision coverage ratio stood at a healthy 85%, indicating a proactive approach to risk management. The CASA (Current Account Savings Account) ratio, however, declined to 28.0% from 29.0% in the previous quarter, which may pose challenges for margin sustainability moving forward. The credit-deposit ratio was reported at 90.53%, reflecting aggressive lending growth relative to deposit mobilization. Overall, AU Small Finance Bank's results indicate a strong operational performance with significant profit growth and effective management of interest margins, although attention to asset quality and funding mix will be essential going forward. The company saw an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the market's response to these results.
