Chalet Hotels Ltd's latest Q1 FY27 results are poor, showing a 57.59% year-on-year decline in net profit and a 42.73% drop in revenue, marking the lowest quarterly performance in over two years. Despite some improvements in balance sheet metrics, the significant operational challenges indicate a need for close monitoring of future performance.
Chalet Hotels Ltd's latest financial results for Q1 FY27 indicate significant operational challenges. The company reported a net profit of ₹86.15 crores, which reflects a substantial decline of 57.59% year-on-year and 47.16% quarter-on-quarter. Revenue also saw a notable contraction, with net sales amounting to ₹512.27 crores, marking a decrease of 42.73% compared to the same quarter last year and an 8.23% drop from the previous quarter. This performance is characterized as the lowest quarterly revenue in over two years, suggesting a reversal in earnings momentum after a relatively strong Q4 FY26.
The operating profit before depreciation, interest, and tax (PBDIT) was reported at ₹234.01 crores, which is the lowest in recent periods, and the operating margin contracted to 45.68%, down from the previous quarter. The profit after tax margin also saw a significant decline, compressing from 29.20% in Q4 FY26 to 16.81% in Q1 FY27, primarily due to an increased tax rate that surged to 35.02%. Despite these challenges, there are some positive indicators in the company's balance sheet metrics. The debt-to-equity ratio improved to 0.64 times, indicating a reduction in leverage, and the return on capital employed (ROCE) showed an increase to 16.49% on a half-yearly basis, reflecting enhanced capital efficiency. Overall, the financial results for Chalet Hotels Ltd illustrate a period of marked deterioration in operational performance, with significant declines in both revenue and profitability. The company saw an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting these challenges and the need for close monitoring of future performance to assess recovery potential.
