Are GTL latest results good or bad?
GTL's latest results show a positive increase in Profit After Tax to Rs 6.28 crore and the highest EPS in five quarters, but a 12.2% decline in net sales and rising interest expenses indicate ongoing operational challenges. Overall, while profitability has improved, concerns about liquidity and sustainability remain.
GTL has reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, revealing a complex operational landscape. The company has experienced a notable growth in Profit After Tax (PAT), which reached Rs 6.28 crore, marking a significant increase compared to the average PAT of Rs -2.26 crore from the previous four quarters. This indicates a positive shift in profitability for shareholders, as reflected in the Earnings per Share (EPS) of Rs 0.99, the highest in five quarters. However, the results also highlight challenges. Net sales have declined by 12.2% to Rs 55.73 crore, compared to the previous four-quarter average of Rs 63.47 crore. Additionally, the company reported its highest interest expense in five quarters at Rs 9.23 crore, suggesting increased borrowing costs. The Debtors Turnover Ratio of 17.04 times indicates efficiency in settling debts, but the Debt-Equity Ratio of -0.94 times raises concerns about liquidity.
Moreover, non-operating income constituted a significant portion of Profit Before Tax at 36.27%, which may raise questions about the sustainability of the company's earnings. Overall, while GTL has shown improvement in certain profitability metrics, the decline in sales and rising interest expenses point to underlying operational challenges.
It is also noted that the company saw an adjustment in its evaluation over the past three months.
