Indian Bank's latest financial results for Q2 FY26 reflect a well-balanced growth trajectory across key metrics. The bank reported a net profit of ₹3,040.53 crores, which indicates a sequential increase of 11.43% and a year-on-year growth of 10.96%. This consistent earnings momentum is supported by a net interest income of ₹6,588.57 crores, showing a quarter-on-quarter growth of 3.58% and a year-on-year increase of 6.00%.

Interest earned reached ₹16,628.28 crores, representing a sequential growth of 2.11% and an 8.19% increase compared to the same period last year. The operating profit before provisions was recorded at ₹4,861.50 crores, reflecting a modest increase of 1.44% from the previous quarter. The profit before tax surged 23.64% quarter-on-quarter to ₹4,122.99 crores, highlighting improved operational efficiency.

A notable aspect of Indian Bank's performance is the improvement in asset quality. The gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declined to 2.60%, down from 3.01% in the previous quarter, while net NPAs improved to 0.16% from 0.18%. This consistent reduction in stressed assets, along with a robust capital adequacy ratio of 17.49%, positions the bank favorably among its public sector peers.

The bank's return on equity stands at 15.81%, indicating strong capital efficiency. The overall financial performance demonstrates sustained momentum across various metrics, reflecting the bank's ability to navigate challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities.
