The latest financial results for Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) indicate a notable performance in the quarter ended June 2026. The company achieved net sales of ₹960.45 crores, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 49.71% and a sequential increase of 25.83%. This growth was supported by both volume increases and improved realization per tonne of ferro chrome sold.
Operating margins also saw significant expansion, reaching 29.29%, which is the highest recorded in over two years. This improvement can be attributed to favorable commodity prices and enhanced operational efficiencies across IMFA's manufacturing facilities. The net profit for the quarter stood at ₹192.34 crores, marking a substantial year-on-year increase of 108.41% and a sequential growth of 86.34%. The operational performance is further underscored by the operating profit before depreciation, interest, and tax (PBDIT), which reached ₹281.27 crores, indicating a year-on-year growth of 124.20% and a sequential increase of 76.84%. The PAT margin also improved significantly to 20.05%, reflecting effective cost management alongside top-line growth. IMFA's strategic positioning, particularly its ownership of captive chrome ore mines, has provided a competitive edge, insulating the company from raw material price volatility that affects many of its competitors. The ferro alloys industry is experiencing a structural upturn, driven by strong demand from the stainless steel sector, which has further benefited IMFA. In light of these results, the company saw an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the positive operational trends and financial metrics reported. Overall, IMFA's Q1 FY27 results highlight its operational prowess and strategic advantages in a recovering market.
