Are Kavveri Defence latest results good or bad?
Kavveri Defence's latest results show significant growth in net sales and profit after tax, with increases of 367.9% and 485.7%, respectively. However, challenges in operating profit and a heavy reliance on non-operating income raise concerns about the sustainability of this growth.
Kavveri Defence & Wireless Technologies has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, showcasing significant growth in net sales and profit after tax (PAT) compared to the previous four quarters. The net sales for this quarter reached Rs 8.20 crore, reflecting a substantial increase of 367.9% from the average of Rs 1.75 crore in prior quarters. Similarly, the PAT stood at Rs 3.69 crore, indicating a growth of 485.7% from the average PAT of Rs 0.63 crore during the same period. However, the company encountered challenges in its operating profit, which recorded a loss of Rs -0.60 crore, marking the lowest figure in the last five quarters. Additionally, profit before tax (PBT) fell to Rs -0.73 crore, highlighting a negative trend in this area. Notably, the reliance on non-operating income, which accounted for 119.78% of PBT, raises concerns regarding the sustainability of the company's business model.
In terms of quarterly performance, the net sales showed a growth of 16.98% compared to the previous quarter, while the consolidated net profit demonstrated a growth of 66.97%. Conversely, the operating profit (PBDIT) recorded a loss, with a significant decline of 126.79%. The operating profit margin (excluding other income) was reported at -7.32%, indicating a notable change.
Overall, while Kavveri Defence has shown remarkable growth in sales and profitability, the challenges in operating profit and reliance on non-operating income suggest areas of concern. The company saw an adjustment in its evaluation based on these results.
