National Aluminium Company Ltd's latest results show mixed performance: while Q4 FY26 net sales grew sequentially by 5.96% to ₹5,012.82 crores, they declined 4.84% year-on-year, and net profit fell 16.68% compared to the same quarter last year. National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) has reported its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY26, showcasing a mixed operational performance. The company achieved net sales of ₹5,012.82 crores, reflecting a sequential growth of 5.96% compared to the previous quarter, although this represents a year-on-year decline of 4.84% from ₹5,267.83 crores in Q4 FY25. This revenue contraction is attributed to softer aluminium prices in the international market, which have impacted overall realisations despite stable production volumes.
In terms of profitability, NALCO reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,722.44 crores for Q4 FY26, which is a sequential increase of 7.98% from the prior quarter. However, this figure is down 16.68% compared to the same quarter last year. The profit after tax margin stood at 34.36%, which improved by 64 basis points sequentially but is lower than the 39.24% achieved in Q4 FY25. The operating margin, excluding other income, was reported at 46.87%, marking an 81 basis point improvement from the previous quarter, though it is down 541 basis points year-on-year. This resilience in margins indicates effective cost management and operational efficiency, particularly in controlling employee costs. For the full fiscal year FY26, NALCO demonstrated significant growth, with net sales surging by 27.70% to ₹16,787 crores and consolidated profit after tax more than doubling to ₹5,324 crores, reflecting a robust operational performance driven by favorable aluminium realisations throughout the year. Overall, the results indicate that while NALCO has shown operational resilience and maintained strong margins, the year-on-year revenue and profit declines highlight challenges within the broader aluminium market. The company has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting these mixed operational trends.
