Are Platinum Industr latest results good or bad?

Platinum Industries has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, which highlight a complex situation for the company. While net sales for the last six months reached Rs 189.97 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 34.19%, this positive trend is overshadowed by significant declines in profitability metrics.
The Profit Before Tax (PBT) fell to Rs 5.90 crore, representing a substantial decrease of 60.1% compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. Similarly, Profit After Tax (PAT) decreased by 52.9%, landing at Rs 6.37 crore. Operating profit also declined to Rs 8.19 crore, with an operating profit margin of 8.49%, marking the lowest level in five quarters.

Additionally, non-operating income accounted for a notable 33.86% of PBT, raising concerns about the sustainability of the company's core business operations. Earnings per share (EPS) fell to Rs 1.16, indicating a decline in profitability for shareholders.

In terms of quarterly performance, net sales showed a QoQ growth of 3.26% compared to the previous quarter, while consolidated net profit experienced a decline of 45.32%. Operating profit also reflected a decrease of 41.54%, and the operating profit margin saw a reduction of 6.50%.
