Are Rail Vikas latest results good or bad?

Rail Vikas Nigam has reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, which indicate a challenging operational environment. The company recorded net sales of Rs 3,908.77 crore, reflecting a significant decline compared to the average net sales of the previous four quarters. Profit Before Tax (PBT) turned negative at Rs -54.78 crore, a notable shift from the average PBT seen in prior quarters. Profit After Tax (PAT) also decreased, reaching Rs 134.53 crore, which is considerably lower than the average PAT from earlier periods.
The operating profit margin fell to 1.35%, suggesting reduced efficiency in operations. Additionally, earnings per share (EPS) dropped to Rs 0.65, marking the lowest level in five quarters. The quarterly results further show a decline in net sales and consolidated net profit compared to the previous quarter, indicating ongoing difficulties in both sales and profitability.
