SPIC's latest results are positive, with a 74.59% increase in net sales and significant growth in profit before tax and profit after tax, reaching their highest levels in five quarters. However, the rising debt-equity ratio and reliance on non-operating income may raise concerns about sustainability.
Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC) has reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, showcasing notable operational trends. The company achieved net sales of Rs 1,535.00 crore over the last six months, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 74.59%. For the quarter, the profit before tax (PBT) was Rs 83.42 crore, which represents a significant increase compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. The profit after tax (PAT) reached Rs 66.71 crore, marking a 71.4% rise over the average PAT from the last four quarters, indicating the highest PAT recorded in the last five quarters.

Earnings per share (EPS) also saw an uptick, reaching Rs 3.28, the highest in the last five quarters. However, it is worth noting that the company's debt-equity ratio has risen to 0.60 times, suggesting a greater reliance on borrowing for operational funding. Additionally, non-operating income increased to Rs 17.52 crore, the highest in five quarters, which raises questions about its sustainability.

In terms of quarterly performance, SPIC reported a net sales growth of 3.48% compared to the previous quarter, while consolidated net profit exhibited a substantial growth of 242.63%. The operating profit margin, excluding other income, also improved, indicating a positive trend in operational efficiency.

Overall, the company saw an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the changes in its financial performance metrics.
