Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers (TNPL) has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing a complex operational landscape. The company achieved net sales of Rs 1,336.77 crore, which represents the highest quarterly sales in the last five quarters, indicating a positive trend in sales performance. However, this positive sales figure contrasts sharply with the company's profitability metrics.
Profit Before Tax (PBT), adjusted for other income, was reported at Rs -26.19 crore, reflecting a significant decline compared to the previous year. Additionally, Profit After Tax (PAT) decreased to Rs 22.12 crore, which is a 32.9% reduction year-on-year. These figures suggest that while sales have improved, profitability has faced considerable challenges.

Moreover, a noteworthy aspect of TNPL's financial results is the reliance on non-operating income, which accounted for 184.95% of PBT. The company recorded its highest non-operating income of Rs 57.02 crore in the last five quarters, raising concerns about the sustainability of its financial model.

In terms of evaluation, the company saw an adjustment in its evaluation over the past three months.
