AU Small Finance Bank Reports Mixed Financial Results with Record Net Interest Income and Rising Non-Operating Income Concerns in March 2025

AU Small Finance Bank has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing a mix of positive and challenging trends. The bank's net interest income reached a record high of Rs 2,093.92 crore, marking consistent growth over the last five quarters. Additionally, interest earned also peaked at Rs 4,270.60 crore, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth of 50.93%. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at Rs 503.70 crore, showcasing a year-on-year increase of 35.9%.
However, the financial results also highlight areas of concern. The profit before tax less other income (PBT) recorded a decline, falling to Rs -103.52 crore, which is the lowest in the past five quarters and represents a year-on-year decrease of 20.13%. Furthermore, non-operating income has surged to 115.75% of PBT, indicating a reliance on income from non-business activities, which raises sustainability questions for the bank's financial model.

In light of these results, AU Small Finance Bank has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score reflecting these dynamics.
