Bata India Reports Flat Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Mixed Financial Indicators

Bata India, a midcap player in the consumer durables sector, recently announced its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024. The company reported a flat financial performance for Q3 FY24-25, with notable adjustments in its evaluation. The score has shifted positively to 4 from -6 over the past three months, indicating a change in assessment.
Several factors are contributing positively to Bata India's financial standing. The operating profit to interest ratio reached its highest level in five quarters at 6.41 times, reflecting an enhanced ability to manage interest payments. Additionally, the operating profit (PBDIT) for the quarter was recorded at Rs 199.51 crore, marking a positive trend. The profit before tax (PBT) also showed significant growth, reaching Rs 78.23 crore, which is a 26.4% increase over the average PBT of the previous four quarters.

Conversely, there are challenges as well. The profit after tax (PAT) fell to Rs 66.89 crore, a decline of 23.0% compared to the average PAT of the last four quarters. Furthermore, the debt-equity ratio has risen to 0.98 times, indicating increased borrowing, which may affect liquidity. The debtors turnover ratio has also reached its lowest point in five half-yearly periods, suggesting a slowdown in settling debts.
