Bata India, a leading consumer durables company, has reported a negative financial performance for the quarter ending March 2024. Key indicators such as Profit Before Tax, Operating Profit to Interest ratio, and Net Sales have all declined, indicating a negative trend in the company's near-term financial health.

Bata India, a leading consumer durables company in the midcap industry, recently announced its financial results for the quarter ending March 2024. The company's stock has been given a 'Sell' call by MarketsMOJO.

According to the financial report, Bata India has seen a negative performance in the quarter, with a score of -9 compared to -8 in the previous quarter. This indicates a decline in the company's overall financial health.

One of the major factors contributing to this decline is the Profit Before Tax (PBT) less Other Income, which has fallen by 29.7% to Rs 61.03 crore compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters at Rs 86.79 crore. This shows a negative trend in the near term for the company's PBT.

Another concerning aspect is the company's Operating Profit to Interest ratio, which is at its lowest in the last five quarters at 5.89 times. This indicates a deteriorating ability to manage interest payments.

The Profit After Tax (PAT) has also seen a decline of 13.6% to Rs 63.65 crore compared to the average PAT of the previous four quarters at Rs 73.66 crore. This further supports the negative trend in the near term for the company's financial performance.

The Net Sales for the quarter have also fallen by 7.7% to Rs 797.87 crore compared to the average Net Sales of the previous four quarters at Rs 864.83 crore. This shows a negative trend in the company's sales performance in the near term.

The Non Operating Income for the quarter has seen a significant increase to Rs 21.90 crore, which is the highest in the last five quarters. However, this may not be sustainable as it comes from non-business activities.

Overall, Bata India's financial performance for the quarter ending March 2024 has been negative, with a decline in key financial indicators. Investors are advised to carefully consider these factors before making any investment decisions.
