Capital Small Finance Bank Reports Strong Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Income Sustainability Concerns

Capital Small Finance Bank has reported its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25, showcasing a range of positive metrics. The bank achieved its highest quarterly interest earned at Rs 234.97 crore, marking consistent growth over the last five quarters. Additionally, net interest income reached Rs 107.12 crore, reflecting an upward trend in income from its core operations.
The operating profit also saw a notable increase, with a quarterly figure of Rs 29.64 crore, contributing to an operating profit margin of 12.61%, indicating enhanced efficiency. Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at Rs 27.48 crore, which represents a significant growth compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. Furthermore, Profit After Tax (PAT) reached Rs 34.05 crore, underscoring a positive trajectory in profitability.

However, it is important to note that a considerable portion of the bank's income, 39.79% of PBT, is derived from non-operating activities, which raises concerns about the sustainability of this income source.
