Chemfab Alkalis Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Rising Costs and Declining Profitability in May'25

Chemfab Alkalis, a small-cap player in the chemicals industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results, declared on May 14, 2025, reveal a mixed performance landscape for the company.
On a positive note, Chemfab Alkalis achieved its highest quarterly net sales in the last five quarters, reaching Rs 92.32 crore. Additionally, the operating profit (PBDIT) also marked a peak at Rs 13.33 crore, indicating a favorable near-term trend in sales and operating profitability.

Conversely, the financial results highlight significant challenges. The profit after tax (PAT) has notably declined to Rs 0.70 crore, reflecting a substantial drop compared to the average PAT of Rs 1.92 crore over the previous four quarters. This decline points to a very negative near-term trend in profitability. Furthermore, the company has experienced an increase in interest expenses, which reached Rs 1.57 crore, the highest in the last five quarters, suggesting a rise in borrowings. The earnings per share (EPS) also fell to Rs -6.40, marking the lowest level in the past five quarters, indicating declining profitability.

In light of these results, Chemfab Alkalis has undergone an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the current financial landscape.
