Chemplast Sanmar Reports Record Sales Amidst Declining Profitability Challenges in March 2025

Chemplast Sanmar, a midcap player in the chemicals industry, has released its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The company reported net sales of Rs 1,150.88 crore, marking the highest figure in the last five quarters, indicating a positive near-term sales trend. However, the financial performance reveals significant challenges as well.
The profit before tax less other income (PBT) stood at Rs -86.78 crore, reflecting a notable decline compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters, which was Rs -51.32 crore. This represents a substantial shift in the near-term PBT trend. Similarly, the profit after tax (PAT) was recorded at Rs -54.17 crore, which is considerably lower than the average PAT of Rs -21.83 crore from the previous four quarters, indicating a very negative near-term trend in profitability.

Additionally, earnings per share (EPS) reached its lowest point at Rs -3.43 over the last five quarters, suggesting a decline in profitability for shareholders. On a slightly positive note, non-operating income was reported at Rs 13.89 crore, the highest in the last five quarters, although its sustainability remains uncertain.

In light of these developments, Chemplast Sanmar has experienced adjustments in its evaluation, reflecting the complexities of its current financial landscape.
