Chennai Petroleum Reports Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Significant Performance Declines

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has recently disclosed its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25, which highlight notable shifts in its performance metrics. The company reported a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 20.05 crore, which contrasts sharply with the average PBT of Rs 238.35 crore observed over the previous four quarters. Additionally, the profit after tax (PAT) was recorded at Rs 20.78 crore, significantly lower than the average of Rs 179.13 crore from prior periods.
In terms of revenue, CPCL's net sales amounted to Rs 12,925.36 crore, reflecting a decline from the average net sales of Rs 16,069.37 crore in the last four quarters. However, it is noteworthy that the company's cash and cash equivalents have reached Rs 193.54 crore, marking the highest level in the last six half-yearly periods, which suggests a favorable trend in short-term liquidity.

These results indicate that CPCL is navigating through considerable challenges, prompting an adjustment in its evaluation.
