Chennai Petroleum Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Declining Profitability in June 2025

Chennai Petroleum Corporation (C P C L) has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, revealing notable shifts in its performance metrics. The evaluation changes indicate a decline in the overall score, which has adjusted to -12 from a previous score of 1 over the last three months.
On a positive note, C P C L has demonstrated improvements in certain areas. The company's cash and cash equivalents have reached their highest level in the last six half-yearly periods, totaling Rs 375.29 crore, suggesting an enhancement in short-term liquidity. Additionally, the debtors turnover ratio has also shown a favorable trend, achieving a record of 365.20 times over the last five half-yearly periods, indicating that the company has been effective in settling its debtors more swiftly.

Conversely, the financial results also highlight challenges for C P C L. The profit before tax (PBT) has reported a significant decline, standing at Rs -72.83 crore, which reflects a substantial negative shift compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. Similarly, the profit after tax (PAT) has also fallen sharply to Rs -40.10 crore, marking a considerable downturn from the average PAT of the previous four quarters.
