Davangere Sugar Company has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing notable trends within its performance metrics. The company's earnings per share (EPS) reached Rs 0.21, marking the highest level in the last five quarters, indicating a positive development in profitability and earnings generation for shareholders.

However, the financial landscape also presents challenges for Davangere Sugar. The profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter was recorded at Rs 1.68 crore, reflecting a significant decline of 44.6% compared to the average PBT of Rs 3.03 crore from the previous four quarters. Similarly, the profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 1.94 crore, which is down 42.7% from the average PAT of Rs 3.39 crore over the same period, suggesting a concerning trend in profitability.

Additionally, the interest expense for the nine-month period increased to Rs 22.72 crore, up by 35.48% from the preceding nine months, indicating a rise in borrowing costs. These factors have contributed to an adjustment in evaluation for Davangere Sugar, resulting in a revision in its score.
