Deccan Cements has released its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing a complex picture of performance within the cement and cement products industry. The company's evaluation has undergone an adjustment, with its score shifting to -22 from -24 over the past three months. On a positive note, Deccan Cements reported its highest earnings per share (EPS) in the last five quarters at Rs 5.68, indicating a period of increased profitability and enhanced earnings for shareholders. However, the financial results also highlight significant challenges. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 118.92 crore, reflecting a notable decline of 46.73% year on year. Additionally, profit before tax (PBT) decreased to Rs 3.43 crore, marking a substantial drop of 78.71% year on year. Profit after tax (PAT) also fell to Rs 7.95 crore, down 41.2% year on year.
Furthermore, a considerable portion of the company's income is derived from non-operating activities, which accounted for 67.05% of PBT. This reliance on non-business income raises concerns about the sustainability of its financial model.
