Gillanders Arbuthnot & Company has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing a mix of positive and challenging trends. The company's Profit After Tax (PAT) for the latest six months stands at Rs 4.87 crore, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth of 110.37%. This marks a notable turnaround, as the PAT has surpassed the previous twelve-month period, which recorded a loss of Rs 35.35 crore.Additionally, net sales for the same period reached Rs 231.58 crore, showing a year-on-year increase of 36.08%. This positive sales trend indicates a robust performance in the near term. However, the financial results also highlight some areas of concern. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the latest quarter was reported at Rs -7.79 crore, which represents a substantial decline compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters, which was Rs -2.74 crore. Furthermore, while non-operating income reached its highest level in five quarters at Rs 4.08 crore, there are questions regarding the sustainability of this income from non-business activities.
