GMR Power & Urban Infra has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024, revealing a complex picture of its performance. The company recorded net sales of Rs 2,995.60 crore for the half-year, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth of 73.13%. This positive sales trend indicates a robust demand for its services in the power generation and distribution sector. However, the financial results also highlight challenges for GMR Urban. The profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter stood at Rs -247.89 crore, marking a notable decline compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. Similarly, the profit after tax (PAT) was reported at Rs -109.04 crore, which also shows a downward trend relative to prior periods. The earnings per share (EPS) reached its lowest point in five quarters at Rs -1.49, indicating declining profitability.
Additionally, the company's debt-equity ratio has risen to 12.72 times, suggesting an increased reliance on borrowing to support operations, which may raise concerns about liquidity. On a more positive note, non-operating income reached Rs 151.57 crore, the highest in the last five quarters, although its sustainability remains uncertain.
In light of these developments, GMR Power & Urban Infra has experienced adjustments in its evaluation, reflecting the mixed outcomes of its financial performance.
