Greaves Cotton Reports Strong Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Concerns Over Non-Operating Income

Greaves Cotton, a midcap player in the diesel engines industry, has reported its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25 on January 23, 2025. The company has undergone an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score improving to -2 from -22 over the last three months.
In terms of profitability, Greaves Cotton reported a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 10.79 crore, reflecting a substantial change compared to the average PBT of Rs -1.02 crore from the previous four quarters. The Profit After Tax (PAT) also experienced a notable shift, reaching Rs 19.37 crore, which is a significant change over the average PAT of Rs 11.30 crore in the prior quarters.

Net sales reached Rs 750.60 crore, marking the highest level in the last five quarters, indicating a positive trend in sales. Additionally, the Operating Profit (PBDIT) stood at Rs 39.67 crore, also the highest in the last five quarters. However, it is important to note that non-operating income constituted 51.89% of the PBT, raising concerns about the sustainability of the company's business model.
