Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, showcasing a range of noteworthy developments. The bank's score has seen an adjustment in evaluation, moving to 17 from 15 over the past three months, reflecting a positive shift in its financial standing.

Key highlights from the quarter include a significant reduction in both Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) and Net NPA, now at 2.14% and 0.37% respectively, marking the lowest levels in the last five quarters. This trend indicates a decrease in the proportion of stressed loans. Additionally, IOB achieved its highest Net Interest Income at Rs 3,122.95 crore, alongside record figures for Interest Earned and Operating Profit, suggesting a robust performance in its core business activities.

However, the bank's reliance on non-operating income, which constitutes 101.71% of Profit Before Tax, raises concerns about the sustainability of its business model. Despite these challenges, the bank's capital adequacy ratio has improved, standing at 19.74%, indicating a stronger capital base relative to its risk assets.
