Jammu & Kashmir Bank Reports Strong Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Rising NPAs

The Jammu & Kashmir Bank has released its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25, highlighting a robust performance across several key metrics. The bank's net interest income reached a record high of Rs 1,508.68 crore, reflecting consistent growth over the last five quarters. Additionally, the interest earned for the quarter was reported at Rs 3,206.08 crore, showcasing a strong upward trend in core business income.
For the half-yearly period, the profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 1,082.43 crore, which represents a notable year-on-year growth of 34.94%. The operating profit also achieved its highest level in the last five quarters at Rs 505.79 crore, with an operating profit margin of 15.78%, indicating enhanced operational efficiency.

On the liquidity side, cash and cash equivalents were recorded at Rs 7,254.66 crore, marking the highest level in the last six half-yearly periods, which suggests an improvement in short-term liquidity. However, it is important to note that the bank's net non-performing assets (NPA) rose to 0.94%, the highest in the last five quarters, pointing to an increase in stressed loans.

In light of these developments, the bank has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its overall score reflecting a change in assessment over the past three months.
