Kotak Mahindra Bank Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Record Interest Earnings in March 2025

Kotak Mahindra Bank has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing a mixed performance landscape. The bank's interest earned reached a record high of Rs 13,529.77 crore, marking consistent growth over the last five quarters. Additionally, the net interest income also peaked at Rs 7,283.57 crore, indicating a robust increase in income from its core banking operations. Furthermore, the net non-performing assets (NPA) ratio improved to 0.31%, reflecting a decline in the proportion of stressed loans.
However, the results also highlighted some challenges. The profit before tax less other income (PBT) fell to Rs 1,380.36 crore, which is the lowest in the last five quarters and represents a notable decline compared to the previous four-quarter average. Similarly, profit after tax (PAT) decreased to Rs 3,551.74 crore, also below the average of the preceding quarters. Additionally, a significant portion of the profit before tax was derived from non-operating income, raising concerns about the sustainability of this revenue source.

In light of these developments, Kotak Mahindra Bank has experienced adjustments in its evaluation.
