Mafatlal Industries Reports Strong Sales Growth Amid Declining Profitability in Q4 2024

Mafatlal Industries, a small-cap player in the textile industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024. The company has experienced a notable shift in its evaluation, with its score reflecting a change from 18 to 8 over the past three months. The financial data reveals that Mafatlal Industries achieved net sales of Rs 910.28 crore, marking a growth of 38.3% compared to the average net sales of the previous four quarters, which stood at Rs 657.96 crore. This indicates a positive near-term sales trend for the company. However, the results also highlight challenges. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the quarter was recorded at Rs 7.72 crore, which represents a decline of 10.9% from the average PBT of Rs 8.66 crore over the last four quarters. Similarly, the Profit After Tax (PAT) decreased to Rs 24.50 crore, down by 8.1% from the average PAT of Rs 26.66 crore in the previous periods. Additionally, a significant portion of the company's income, 62.30% of PBT, is derived from non-operating activities, raising concerns about the sustainability of its business model.
