Magadh Sugar Reports Mixed Q4 Results Amid Rising Costs and Sales Growth

Magadh Sugar & Energy has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024, revealing a complex picture of performance within the sugar industry. The company has experienced a notable shift in its evaluation, with the score adjusting to -15 from -23 over the past three months.
On a positive note, Magadh Sugar's net sales for the quarter reached Rs 283.84 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 29.88%. This indicates a favorable near-term sales trend, suggesting that the company is managing to increase its revenue despite broader challenges.

Conversely, the financial results also highlight significant areas of concern. The profit before tax, excluding other income, was reported at Rs 27.16 crore, which represents a year-on-year decline of 47.21%. Similarly, the profit after tax stood at Rs 21.15 crore, down 45.6% compared to the previous year. These figures point to a very negative near-term trend in profitability.

Additionally, interest expenses for the nine-month period increased to Rs 25.70 crore, marking a growth of 20.77% over the preceding nine months, indicating rising borrowing costs for the company.
