National Standard Reports Q3 FY24-25 Results: Sales Growth Amid Profit Declines

National Standard (India), a midcap player in the ferrous metal industry, has reported its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25, declared on January 16, 2025. The company has experienced notable evaluation changes, with a significant adjustment in its score reflecting the current performance landscape.
In terms of net sales, National Standard achieved Rs 19.49 crore for the half-year, which represents a year-on-year growth of 27.05%. However, this positive sales figure is contrasted by declines in profitability metrics. The profit before tax (PBT) has fallen to Rs -0.97 crore, which is a considerable shift compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters, recorded at Rs 1.32 crore. Similarly, profit after tax (PAT) has decreased to Rs 2.15 crore, down 48.1% from an average of Rs 4.15 crore in prior quarters.

The operating profit has also reached its lowest level in five quarters at Rs -0.97 crore. Furthermore, non-operating income has made up 130.50% of PBT, raising questions about the sustainability of the company's business model. Earnings per share (EPS) have declined to Rs 1.08, marking the lowest figure in the last five quarters.
