NTPC has announced its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, highlighting record net sales of Rs 49,833.70 crore and an operating profit of Rs 14,754.05 crore. The profit after tax reached Rs 7,611.22 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 23.4%, despite rising interest expenses.
NTPC, a prominent player in the power industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results indicate a notable performance in several key areas, with net sales reaching Rs 49,833.70 crore, marking the highest figure in the last five quarters. Similarly, the operating profit (PBDIT) also peaked at Rs 14,754.05 crore, reflecting a strong operational performance. The profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 7,611.22 crore, showcasing a year-on-year growth of 23.4%, and earnings per share (EPS) reached Rs 7.85, indicating enhanced profitability for shareholders. However, the financial landscape is not without its challenges. The interest expense has risen to Rs 3,648.04 crore, the highest in five quarters, with a significant quarter-on-quarter increase of 32.01%. This rise in interest costs suggests a trend of increased borrowings, which may impact future financial stability. Additionally, while non-operating income has also reached a five-quarter high at Rs 1,251.35 crore, there are concerns regarding the sustainability of this income source.
In light of these developments, NTPC has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score reflecting recent changes.
