Poonawalla Fincorp Reports Strong Growth Amid Rising Debt and Liquidity Concerns in March 2025

Poonawalla Fincorp, a prominent player in the Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sector, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The evaluation changes reflect a notable shift, with the score moving to 4 from -3 over the past three months.
The financial results indicate several positive trends for Poonawalla Fincorp. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) reached Rs 73.18 crore, marking a significant growth of 113.5% compared to the average PBT of Rs 34.27 crore from the previous four quarters. Additionally, net sales hit a record high of Rs 1,166.27 crore, showing consistent growth over the last five quarters. The Profit After Tax (PAT) also demonstrated strong performance, recorded at Rs 62.33 crore, which is a 45.8% increase over the average PAT of Rs 42.76 crore from the previous four quarters.

Conversely, some challenges are evident in the financials. The cash and cash equivalents stood at Rs 32.29 crore, the lowest in the last six half-yearly periods, indicating a tightening short-term liquidity position. Furthermore, the debt-equity ratio has reached 3.19 times, the highest in the last five half-yearly periods, suggesting an increased reliance on borrowing to support operations.
