Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Reports Strong Profit Growth Amid Rising Costs and Sales Decline in December 2024

Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024, revealing notable trends in its performance. The company has experienced a significant adjustment in its evaluation, with its score reflecting a shift from -2 to 10 over the past three months.
The financial results indicate a remarkable growth in Profit Before Tax (PBT), which reached Rs 63.12 crore, marking a year-on-year increase of 414.19%. Similarly, Profit After Tax (PAT) surged to Rs 80.23 crore, showcasing a substantial year-on-year growth of 615.1%. These figures suggest a strong near-term trend in profitability for RCF.

However, the results also highlight some challenges. The interest expense for the nine-month period rose to Rs 199.62 crore, reflecting a 38.27% increase, which points to higher borrowing costs. Additionally, net sales for the quarter were reported at Rs 4,518.35 crore, showing a year-on-year decline of 7.85%. Furthermore, a significant portion of the company's income is derived from non-operating activities, accounting for 40.05% of PBT, raising concerns about the sustainability of this income source.
