SG Mart Reports Mixed Financial Results, Highlights Growth Amid Concerns Over Sustainability

SG Mart, a small-cap player in the construction industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results indicate a mixed performance, leading to an adjustment in its evaluation score, which has shifted from 21 to 13 over the past three months.
On the positive side, SG Mart has demonstrated growth in key financial metrics. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for the latest six months stands at Rs 61.18 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 20.58%. Additionally, net sales for the quarter reached Rs 1,595.03 crore, marking a year-on-year increase of 24.85%. The operating profit (PBDIT) also reached its highest level in the last five quarters at Rs 37.07 crore, indicating a favorable near-term trend.

Conversely, there are areas of concern. The Profit Before Tax (PBT), excluding other income, has shown a decline, recorded at Rs 22.29 crore, which represents a year-on-year decrease of 5.35%. Furthermore, a significant portion of the company's income, 47.04% of PBT, is derived from non-operating sources, raising questions about the sustainability of its business model.
