Shalimar Paints Reports Strongest Sales in Five Quarters Amid Rising Interest Costs, Challenges Ahead

Shalimar Paints has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, revealing notable developments in its performance metrics. The company achieved net sales of Rs 177.83 crore, marking the highest figure in the last five quarters and reflecting a significant growth rate compared to the previous four-quarter average. This positive trend in sales is complemented by an improvement in operating profit, which reached Rs -7.35 crore, also the highest in the same timeframe. The operating profit margin has shown enhancement, now at -4.13%, indicating better efficiency.
Additionally, the profit before tax and profit after tax figures have reached their highest levels in the last five quarters, with the latter at Rs -9.52 crore. Earnings per share have also improved, standing at Rs -1.14, suggesting a positive shift in profitability for shareholders.

However, the company faces challenges, particularly with rising interest costs, which have increased by 41.40% over the previous half-year period. Furthermore, while non-operating income has reached a peak of Rs 6.76 crore, its sustainability remains uncertain.

In light of these developments, Shalimar Paints has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, reflecting the complexities of its financial landscape.
