SML ISUZU Reports Strong Financial Growth Amid Rising Interest Costs in March 2025
SML ISUZU, a small-cap player in the automobile industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results indicate a notable shift in the company's financial standing, with a revision in its score reflecting these changes.The quarter showcased several positive trends. The operating profit to interest ratio reached its highest level in five quarters at 10.13 times, suggesting an enhanced ability to manage interest payments. Additionally, profit before tax less other income (PBT) stood at Rs 69.42 crore, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 43.49%. Net sales also peaked at Rs 771.38 crore, indicating a favorable sales trajectory. Operating profit (PBDIT) was recorded at Rs 90.44 crore, while the operating profit margin improved to 11.72%, both representing the highest figures in the last five quarters. Furthermore, profit after tax (PAT) reached Rs 52.95 crore, and earnings per share (EPS) hit Rs 36.57, reflecting increased profitability.
However, the financial results also highlighted a rise in interest costs, which grew by 25.77% quarter on quarter to Rs 8.93 crore, indicating a potential concern regarding increased borrowings.
