Star Cement Reports Strong Financial Growth Amid Rising Interest Costs in March 2025

Star Cement, a midcap player in the Cement & Cement Products industry, has released its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The company reported a notable performance, with its score reflecting a significant adjustment in evaluation, moving to 1 from -20 over the past three months.
The financial results indicate a robust growth trajectory for Star Cement. The Profit After Tax (PAT) reached Rs 123.17 crore, marking a year-on-year growth of 40.5%. This figure represents the highest PAT recorded in the last five quarters, suggesting a positive near-term trend. Additionally, net sales hit Rs 1,052.09 crore, also the highest in the same timeframe, indicating a favorable sales environment.

Operating profit (PBDIT) was reported at Rs 262.72 crore, again the highest in five quarters, with an operating profit margin of 24.97%, reflecting improved efficiency. Profit Before Tax less Other Income (PBT) also reached a five-quarter high of Rs 166.41 crore, growing by 24.83% year-on-year.

However, the company has faced rising interest costs, with the latest six-month interest at Rs 18.61 crore, which has increased by 43.04% compared to the previous half-year period, indicating a rise in borrowings.
