Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Rising Challenges in June 2025

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025, revealing a complex picture of its performance. The bank's evaluation has undergone an adjustment, with its score moving from -20 to -16 over the past three months.
On a positive note, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank achieved its highest quarterly interest earned in the last five quarters, totaling Rs 1,618.84 crore. This indicates a favorable trend in near-term sales. However, the bank is also facing significant challenges. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) has shown a notable decline, recorded at Rs -113.45 crore, which reflects a substantial drop compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. Similarly, the Profit After Tax (PAT) stands at Rs 103.22 crore, down by 43.1% from the prior average, indicating a negative trend in profitability.

Additionally, the bank's net interest income has reached its lowest point in five quarters at Rs 855.95 crore, suggesting a decline in income from core operations. The proportion of stressed loans, as indicated by the net NPA at 0.70%, has also increased, raising concerns about the sustainability of the bank's business model.
