Uttam Sugar Mills Reports Strong Financial Growth Amid Rising Interest Costs in March 2025

Uttam Sugar Mills has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025, showcasing a notable performance within the sugar industry. The company's evaluation has undergone a revision, reflecting a shift in its score to 11 from -16 over the past three months.
The financial metrics indicate a robust growth trajectory. Profit Before Tax less Other Income (PBT) reached Rs 85.35 crore, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 55.52%. Similarly, Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs 65.85 crore, also demonstrating a year-on-year increase of 56.3%. Net sales hit a record high of Rs 566.79 crore, with a year-on-year growth of 21.85%, indicating a strong sales performance.

Operating Profit (PBDIT) was reported at Rs 114.84 crore, the highest in the last five quarters, with an operating profit margin of 20.26%, suggesting improved efficiency. Additionally, Earnings per Share (EPS) reached Rs 17.27, reflecting enhanced profitability for shareholders.

However, the company has also faced challenges, particularly with interest costs rising to Rs 17.77 crore, which has increased significantly quarter on quarter, indicating higher borrowings.
