Welspun Corp Reports Strong Q3 FY24-25 Profit Growth Amid Sales Decline

Welspun Corp, a midcap player in the Steel/Sponge Iron/Pig Iron industry, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024. The results indicate a notable shift in the company's financial evaluation, with the score reflecting a positive adjustment from -11 to 9 over the past three months.
The financial performance for Q3 FY24-25 shows significant growth in key metrics. Profit Before Tax less Other Income (PBT) reached Rs 706.21 crore, marking a substantial year-on-year increase of 93.90%. Similarly, Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs 674.59 crore, demonstrating a remarkable growth of 131.1% year-on-year. Additionally, Earnings per Share (EPS) has also reached its peak at Rs 25.72 in the same period.

Conversely, the company faced challenges with net sales, which amounted to Rs 3,613.51 crore, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 23.92%. Furthermore, cash and cash equivalents were reported at Rs 653.37 crore, the lowest in the last six half-yearly periods, indicating a potential concern regarding short-term liquidity.
