WPIL Reports Declining Financial Metrics Amid Rising Interest Expenses in August 2025

WPIL, a microcap player in the industrial manufacturing sector, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2025. The results, declared on August 5, 2025, indicate a challenging period for the company, with notable declines in key financial metrics.
The Profit Before Tax less Other Income (PBT) for the quarter stands at Rs 31.56 crore, reflecting a significant year-on-year decline of 32.32%. Similarly, the Profit After Tax (PAT) has also shown a downward trend, reported at Rs 22.40 crore, which is a decrease of 42.1% compared to the previous year. These figures suggest a concerning near-term trend for both PBT and PAT.

On a different note, interest expenses for the nine-month period have risen to Rs 34.11 crore, marking a growth of 47.03% over the preceding nine months. This increase in interest costs points to higher borrowings, which may impact the company's financial stability. Furthermore, the operating profit to interest ratio has reached its lowest point in the last five quarters at 4.31 times, indicating challenges in managing interest payments.

In light of these developments, WPIL has experienced adjustments in its evaluation, with its score improving to -18 from -22 over the last three months.
