Out of the 37 sectors analyzed, only 8 managed to advance, while a significant 29 sectors faced declines, resulting in an advance-decline ratio of 0.28.Among the sectors that showed resilience, NIFTYPSUBANK led the way with a gain of 0.81%. This sector was buoyed by strong performances from individual stocks, notably Bank of Maharashtra, which rose by 1.72%. Similarly, NIFTYCPSE and NIFTYPHARMA also posted modest gains of 0.41% and 0.33%, respectively, with Ipca Labs standing out in the pharmaceutical sector with an impressive increase of 11.69%.
Conversely, the technology sectors faced significant headwinds. BSE IT suffered a decline of 1.74%, while NIFTYIT and TECK followed closely with losses of 1.64% and 1.36%. Notably, Infosys dragged down both the NIFTYIT and TECK sectors, falling by 3.28%. Additionally, IRIS Business in the BSE IT sector experienced a sharper decline of 4.99%.
