In a robust trading session, the BSE 500 index recorded a modest one-day return of 0.40%, reflecting a positive sentiment across the market. Advancing sectors outnumbered declining ones significantly, with 29 sectors gaining ground compared to just 9 that fell, resulting in an impressive advance-decline ratio of 3.22.Leading the charge was the S&P BSE Telecommunication sector, which surged by 2.90%, driven primarily by Vodafone Idea, whose stock soared by 9.28%. The real estate sector also performed well, with the REALTY index climbing 2.26%, bolstered by Phoenix Mills, which saw a notable increase of 4.44%. Similarly, the NIFTYREALTY index mirrored this performance with a 2.23% rise, also thanks to Phoenix Mills.
On the downside, the S&P BSE Utilities sector faced challenges, declining by 0.25%, largely due to Reliance Power, which plummeted by 5.43%. Other sectors that struggled included BSE CD and NIFTYIT, with losses of 0.22% and 0.17%, respectively, impacted by Whirlpool India and TCS, which fell by 1.81% and 1.36%.
Overall, the market displayed resilience, with strong performances in key sectors overshadowing the losses in others.
