In the large-cap segment, Smith & Nephew plc emerged as the top performer with a return of 2.07%, while Marks & Spencer Group Plc struggled, recording a loss of 4.8%. The mid-cap sector saw Renishaw Plc leading with a return of 3.91%, contrasted by Entain Plc, which fell by 5.44%. Among small-cap stocks, Xaar Plc stood out with a notable return of 9.23%, while Filtronic Plc faced challenges, declining by 9.63%. Overall, the advance-decline ratio across the market indicated that 177 stocks advanced compared to 229 that declined, resulting in a ratio of 0.77. In the large-cap category, only 13 stocks advanced against 43 that declined, yielding a ratio of 0.3. Mid-cap stocks had 25 advancing and 39 declining, with a ratio of 0.64, while small-cap stocks saw 100 advancing versus 117 declining, resulting in a ratio of 0.85.
