FTSE 100 Falls 0.55% Amid 0.56 Advance-Decline Ratio; British American Tobacco Rises 2.97%
The FTSE 100 index fell by 0.55% today, despite a strong 4.23% gain over the past month, highlighting a challenging trading environment. With 273 stocks declining against 153 advancing, the overall market breadth was weak, particularly in large and mid-cap sectors, which had advance-decline ratios of 0.4x and 0.49x, respectively. British American Tobacco led large-cap gains at 2.97%, while Centrica dropped 5.15%. In mid-caps, Ocado rose 3.03%, but Bridgepoint fell 3.84%. Small-cap stocks showed mixed results, with Conduit Holdings up 7.62% and Globalworth down 15.55%.
